The One Giver of the Word of God: The Revealer of The Truth

Which Text Is Right? KJV – “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear record in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three are one.”

Which Text Is Right? KJV or Other Translations? NASB – “For there are three that bear witness, the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.” ESV – “For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree.” NAS - For there are three that testify : the Spirit and the water and the blood ; and the three are in agreement.”

What words are in King James Version (1611) that are not in other versions? KJV – “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear record in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three are one.”

What texts support the KJV translation of 1611? Only Textus Receptus of Erasmus compiled 1516, 1520, Since then the following texts have also been found with same wording: 61 - a sixteenth century minuscule text a fourteenth century minuscule text 88 - appears in the margin of this 12 century text appears in the margin of this 14 century text a fifteenth century minuscule text a sixteenth century minuscule text appears in the margin of this 10 century text Late Date Texts And No papyrus or Uncial Texts

What texts support the translations made later than (after) the KJV translation of 1611? In other words, which manuscripts support the later translations? Sinaiticus - a 4 th century uncial text (discovered 1870) Alexandrinus - a 5 th century uncial text (disc’d. 1751) Vaticanus – a 4 th century uncial text (translated in 19 th cent.) a 5 th century uncial text (palimsest discovered 1887) and many more! minuscule texts from the 9 th century read the same way: 81, 88, 104, 181, 326, 330, 436, 451, 614, 630, 945, 1241, 1505, 1739, 1877, 1881, 2127, 2412, 2492, 2495, etc.

In this instance, based on the evidence, other translations are better than the KJV to provide the text of the Scripture. It appears this change in text appeared after 10 th century.

Yes, we will! Many other passages demonstrate the Existence of All Three: Mathew 28:19 John 14:26 – Comforter=Holy Spirit, I=Jesus Matthew 3:16-17 – Spirit of God=Holy Spirit Romans 15:30 – Spirit=Holy Spirit, God=Father 2 Corinthians 13:14 - God=Father Hebrews 2:3-4 – Lord=Jesus, God=Father, Ghost=H.S. Ephesians 2:18 – Him=Jesus Acts 10:38 – Holy Ghost=Holy Spirit Ephesians 4:4-6

The Spirit is called God in Acts 5.

 Spirit = Ruwach in Old Testament: This noun is feminine (Gen 1:2).  In New Testament, God uses word Holy Spirit which is neuter in gender. Some say: “Deity is the Family Unit: Father is the Masculine Spirit is the Feminine Son is the Child. Is this correct? No! A word’s gender has nothing to do with identity, only with language

 The word is neuter in gender. This is reflective of language, not the identity of the person.  “infant” Luke 1:41-44 is neuter gender  “children” Mark 5:39-41 is neuter gender  “girl” is neuter gender Matt 9:24,25  Masculine pronoun “He” is used of Hspirit throughout New Testament.  John 4:24 – Father is Spirit (neuter gender)  1 Cor 15:45 – Jesus is Spirit (neuter gender) A word’s gender has nothing to do with identity, only with language

 The Spirit is a Giant Machine, they say.  Their texts: John 1:32; Rom 8:16,26; 1Cor 12:11; Heb 10:15,17; 1 Pet 1:11  They say, “Jesus is never referred to as ‘It’ since He is a Person.”  Wrong – Jesus is referred to as “It” 5 times in Matthew 2:8, 11, 13, 14, 20, 21  Rom 8:26 – that is some machine? No. That is Some Person!

 Father and Son are Life  Father and Son are Light  Father and Son are Love.  Father and Son are Eternal.  Spirit is Life, Job 33:4; John 3:5-6  Spirit is Light, 1 Cor 2:9- 12  Spirit is Love, Rom 5:3-5  Spirit is Eternal, Heb 9:14

 Omniscient (all wise) – 1 Cor 2:9-11  Omnipotent (all powerful) – Micah 3:8, Acts 1:8  Omnipresent (present everywhere) – Psalm 139:7-10
