Applications Underground Mining Construction Equipment with Smaller Pulleys Asphalt Plants Wood Processing

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Applications Designed for rubber plied and PVC solid woven belting, as well as for older worn belts unfit for vulcanized splices.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Metal Selection Steel : Plated steel is the standard fastener material for most applications. Plating helps combat mild corrosion. Stainless 300 Series : Provides extra resistance to abrasion, magnetic attraction, and corrosion from acids and other chemicals. RustAlloy ® : Low chrome, stainless steel alloy that resists corrosion due to acidic mine water or other chemical attacks.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Rivet Selection Packaged in box or in bulk quantities. Rivets are available in either steel or stainless steel.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Hinge Pin Selection A wide selection makes it easy to match hinge pins to the needs of the application. Bare Armored Cable : Heavy-duty, long- wearing pin popular in underground mining applications. Armor wrapping protects interior wires. Bare Armored Stainless Steel Cable : The same advantages as bare armored cable plus corrosion resistance. Nylon Covered Armored Cable : Combines durable armored steel wrap with a nylon covering for smooth operation and long service life. Nylon covering prevents pin migration. Not recommended in wet, abrasive applications.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Hinge Pin Selection Nylon Covered Steel Cable : Nylon covering prevents pin migration. Not recommended in wet, abrasive applications. For R2 and R5 only. Nylon Covered Stainless Steel Cable : For greater corrosion resistance. Not recommended in wet, abrasive applications. For R2 and R5 only. Bare Steel Cable : Recommended for abrasive or gritty material conveyance. Bare 300 Series Stainless Steel Cable : For conditions where corrosion attacks steel pins. For R2 and R5 only.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Features & Benefits Features a low profile, reducing the fastener’s exposure to cleaner blades, skirt rubber and return idlers. Reduced wear and tear on the fastener extends the life of the splice.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Features & Benefits The viewport simplifies fastener positioning and installation. Staggered rivet pattern provides maximum resistance to pull-out and allows the rivets to work between the carcass fibers to avoid damaging them.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Features & Benefits The same hammer blows that set the rivets also compress the fastener plates into the belt cover. Distributes the splice tension evenly across the width of the belt.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools Easy-to-use, portable tool that makes multiple rivet driving simple and fast. The MSRT holds the belt, fastener strip, and the guide blocks securely in place. Five rivets can be driven simultaneously. Each guide block holds enough rivets to install four plates.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools Used for single rivet driving, the SRTA includes an anvil plate surface and the SR-50 driver. The SR-50 holds and positions the rivet and helps ensure safe rivet driving. It’s portable, economical and requires little maintenance.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools The portable MSRT8 installs R6, RAR6 and RAR8 fasteners.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools The R2T installs up to 300mm (12”) of R2 fasteners in one pass. For wider belts, simply move the tool over. It’s lightweight and portable.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools Far-Pul ® HD ® Belt Clamps are easy-to- use, lightweight and specially engineered for heavy-duty applications. Load capacity up to 2.7 metric tons (3 tons) when used with two 1-1/2 ton come- alongs. Provides even tensioning across entire belt width. Securely grips belts up to 25mm (1”) thick. Easily adjusts to fit a variety of belt widths.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools Make straighter cuts – time after time – with the lightweight, easy-to-use 840 Series Belt Cutter. Cuts in both directions. Designed to enhance operator safety. Grips belts securely. Safety blade is shielded from operator contact.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools Portable, lightweight FSK™ Belt Skiver adjusts easily and precisely to various cutting depths. Use on rubber- covered belts with top covers of 4.5mm (3/16”) or more. Provides skives from mm (1/16”- 3/8”) deep in a single pass.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tool Reduce friction on metal tools, and rubber or fabric belt surfaces with Flexco ® Silicone Lubricant. Makes cutting or punching holes in belting easier. Non-flammable. Does not contain fluorocarbons.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools Double-edged blade cuts in either direction. The Alligator ® 300 Series Belt Cutter delivers clean, straight cuts quickly and safely. For belts of any width up to 28mm (1-1/8”) thick.

HEAVY-DUTY FASTENER SYSTEMS Installation Tools Belt grips can be used on belts up to 16mm (5/8”) thick and come in pairs. When Belt Grips are slipped over belt edge at a right angle, belts can be pulled without damaging the belt surfaces. Makes pulling belting by hand a lot easier.
