Jesus is our best example.

Ephesians 4:2 encourages us to live a life worthy of our calling from Jesus. gentleness

Colossians 3:12 encourages us to clothe ourselves with several character traits that are from our new nature. gentleness

2 Timothy 2:25 Paul instructs the younger pastor that he must GENTLY instruct those who oppose him in the hope that God will give them a change of heart.

Gentleness is the opposite of a rhino

William Barclay teaches 3 characteristics of gentleness: -submission to God’s will -teachableness -consideration of others

Gentleness includes:

Gentleness includes having our mind so set on God’s purposes that we offer unrelenting resistance to evil and yet act with gentleness when evil people attack us.

Gentleness includes feeling deeply the wrong done against us, but our gentleness from the Holy Spirit does not allow us to seek to get even.

Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

Gentleness includes correcting others when they are hurting the cause of Christ.

Gentleness includes being polite, having tact and treating everyone with dignity and respect.

Gentleness includes helping those who have fallen to be restored.

Galatians 6:1 “If someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.”

Would others characterize you as a gentle person or a rhino?

Jesus said to His disciples then and now, “Learn from Me.”

Are you willing to let Jesus teach you how to be gentle and have power under control and be balanced in the way you respond to people?
