Objectives Provide participants with Special Education priorities and updates. Provide participants with SDE SPED Personnel and Resources. Notes on important due and notice dates.

Idaho Demographics There are 151 districts/agencies in Idaho serving students with disabilities. There are 281,854 students enrolled in Idaho public schools. We educate 27,098 students with disabilities. –3,279 ages 3 – 5 (3,379 in 2011) –23,819 ages 6 – 21 (23,485 in 2011) 8.5% of the student (ages 6 -21) population 9.6% of total population

Idaho Demographics 78.8% are White 15.6% are Hispanic (fastest growing) 1.5% are 2 or more 1.36% are Native American 1.3% are Asian 1.02% are Black.34% are Hawaiian/Pacific Islander

Important Dates September 19, 2013 – District corrections and verification of SY Suspension and Expulsion Data September 27, 2013 – District corrections and verification of SY Early Childhood Transition and 60-day timeline data October 2013 – Part B Application Due November 2013 – IDEA Part B Child Count January 30, General Supervision File Review Submission February 2014 – Exceptional Child Tuition Equivalency March Survey Contact Information for Post School Outcomes and Parent Participation (SPP/APR Indicators 14 and 8) May 16, Noncompliance discovered through the 2013 General Supervision File Review must be corrected and verified on the Compliance Tracking Tool June 2014 – Discipline, 60-day timeline, and ECT data must be fully uploaded on the June 2014 ISEE – data sets will be pulled on or before July 15, 2014

Notice Dates On or about October 15, 2014 – Early Childhood Transition and 60-day timeline noncompliance notices posted on CTT and ed to districts On or about November 1, 2014 – noncompliance notices for disproportionate representation (suspension and expulsion) posted on CTT and ed to districts On or about January 15, noncompliance notices for disproportionate representation (in special education and by disability category) posted on CTT and ed to districts May 16, 2014 – General Supervision File Review notices of noncompliance will be posted on CTT and ed to districts May 19, 2014 – Non-compliance remaining after 365 days from 2013 General Supervision File Review notices of non-compliance will be posted on CTT, s sent, and hard copy letters to district superintendents sent May 30, 2014 – Determination notices for FY 2013 will be issued to districts
