Herriman City Engineering Department

 Herriman City has experienced tremendous growth over the last several years  Many new subdivisions and associated roads have been constructed in the City

 The rapid growth and construction activity has exposed our roads to traffic and heavy loads, which in some cases accelerated the deterioration of our roads

 Currently Herriman City has as an inventory of 17,821,898 SF of asphalt road.  A well implemented preventive Road Maintenance plan is needed to take care of our roads and keep them operative and functional.

 Preventive Maintenance not reactive maintenance Deterioration = Life  Very Cost Effective  Applicable for all pavements  Right treatment, right pavement, right time  Importance of life-cycle cost analysis

“Every $1 spent in keeping a good road good precludes spending $6-$14 to rebuild one that has deteriorated.” Now Later

 Crack seal  Patching  Fog seal  Chip seal  Slurry surfacing  Overlay  Full Depth reclamation

 Primary Road Maintenance Treatments:  Crack seal/ Patching/Slurry seal  Mill and Overlay  Full depth reclamation (FDR)  Dirt Road pavement
