Memory Exercises Pictures – Kim’s Game

This power point includes screens with a number of pictures, starting with 6 and increasing to 7. When your has memorised the pictures on a slide, left click to move on to the blank screen, then, move to the next slide, and ask the student to identify the missing item (the position of the items has been changed). Time limits can be set both for the memorising, and for the delay before showing the slide with the picture missing. Left click again to check the answer. Left click to go on to the next screen.

If your child can do the task for a certain number of pictures with no difficulty, change the timings and/or step up to the next level. If your child is finding this activity difficult, don’t worry, just some different explore strategies, such as: sating the objects out loud, visualisation and making links between pictures (e.g. making them into a story). You can also do this activity on a table, where you place a number of objects on a tray, ask your child to look at them, cover them up with a towel, ask your child to close their eyes, then take 1 object away. Once the object has been taken away, remove the towel and ask your child which object has been removed. To make this task easier, only put 4 or 5 objects on the tray & increase the number of objects when you think appropriate. 
