Roman uniform What did they wear in battle? What did they use to fight?

Helmets They wore helmets to protect their heads and to stop the arrows going in they are also made out of metal. Did you know on top of the helmet there were lots of feathers just for fashion?

Armour The armour protects your body so the swords can’t go into you it is also made out of iron. Did you know that the armour held most of the weapons?

Sandals They wore to give them good grip to run. At the bottom there are studs so the sandals won’t break they are made out of metal. The sandals are made out of leather. They use the bottom of the sandals to stamp on the enemy’s head. Did you know that the sandals did not have a cover on top so you could see your part of your feet?

shield The shield is used so no one could hit you and it is made out of wood but if you were richer you could buy one that is made out of steel. Did you know that some of the shields were curved so it could protect your body ?

Sword The sword is to fight back at your enemies and win the battle but if don’t have a sword you might lose. Did you know that some swords were week because they were to old?
