Vision #5 – The Seven Bowls “Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished…”; “Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.” Revelation 15:1; 16:1

A Vision of Victory “And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire – and also those who had conquered the beast… standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, ‘Great and amazing are Your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations! …All nations will come and worship You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.’” Revelation 15:2-4

The Song of Moses and of the Lamb “Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the L ORD, saying, ‘I will sing to the L ORD, for He has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea. The L ORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him, my father's God, and I will exalt Him… The L ORD will reign forever and ever.’ For when the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, the L ORD brought back the waters of the sea upon them, but the people of Israel walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea.” Exodus 15:1-19

The 10 Plagues and the 7 Bowls “…seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.” Revelation 15:1b

Filling Up the Cup of God’s Wrath “…it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. For in the hand of the L ORD there is a cup with foaming wine, well mixed, and He pours out from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs.” Psalm 75:7,8 “…If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God's wrath, poured full strength into the cup of His anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.” Revelation 14:9,10

Review – Trumpets – Chapter 8 1 st Trumpet – hail, fire, blood - 1/3 of earth, trees, and grass burned 2 nd Trumpet – burning mountain - 1/3 of seas become blood 3 rd Trumpet – falling star - 1/3 of fresh waters poisoned 4 th Trumpet – darkness - 1/3 of sun, moon, and stars darkened

5 th Trumpet – locust army from hell - 5 months of torment, no killing 6 th Trumpet – mounted troops released from across the Euphrates - 1/3 of mankind killed 7 th Trumpet – lightning, thunder, earthquake, hail - final judgment “The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent…” Revelation 9:20

The 1 st Bowl of Wrath – The Earth ” So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and harmful and painful sores came upon the people who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.” Revelation 16:2

The 2 nd Bowl of Wrath – The Sea “The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse, and every living thing died that was in the sea.” Revelation 16:3

The 3 rd Bowl of Wrath – Rivers & Springs “The third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood.” Revelation 16:4

Answer to the Cry of the Martyrs “I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, ‘O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before You will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?’ Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete…” Revelation 6:9-11 “And I heard the angel in charge of the waters say, ‘Just are You, O Holy One, who is and who was, for You brought these judgments. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. It is what they deserve!’ And I heard the altar saying, ‘Yes, Lord God the Almighty, true and just are Your judgments!’” Revelation 16:5-7

The 4 th Bowl of Wrath – The Sun “The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory.” Revelation 16:8,9

The 5 th Bowl of Wrath – The Beast’s Throne “The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores. They did not repent of their deeds.” Revelation 16:10,11

The 6 th Bowl of Wrath – The Euphrates “The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east.” Revelation 16:12

The 3 Unclean Spirits and Armageddon “ And I saw, coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty… And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.” Revelation 16:13-16

“And the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the L ORD … And the L ORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan… The commander of his army was Sisera… Then the people of Israel cried out to the L ORD for help, for he had 900 chariots of iron and he oppressed the people of Israel cruelly for twenty years… And Deborah said to Barak, ‘Up! For this is the day in which the L ORD has given Sisera into your hand. Does not the L ORD go out before you?’ So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with 10,000 men following him. And the L ORD routed Sisera and all his chariots and all his army before Barak by the edge of the sword… The kings came, they fought; then fought the kings of Canaan… by the waters of Megiddo; they got no spoils of silver. From heaven the stars fought, from their courses they fought against Sisera.” Judges 4:1-3,14,15; 5:19,20

The Promise & Warning of Jesus Christ “Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!” Revelation 16:15

The Cup of Salvation “Jesus said to them, ‘You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink…?’” Mark 10:38 “So Jesus said to Peter, ‘Put your sword into its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given Me?’” John 18:11 “And [Jesus] withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, ‘Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me. Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours, be done.’” Luke 22:41,42 “I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the L ORD …” Psalm 116:13 “The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ?” I Corinthians 10:16

The 7 th Bowl of Wrath – “It is Done” “The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake… The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell… And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found. And great hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, fell from heaven on people; and they cursed God for the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.” Revelation 16:17-21
