a history in journaling: the alphabet shirt: reading as an infant. crayon-journaling: autobiographical iconography. trading the crayon for the pen. duct-taped composition journals, a series. the famed moleskine notebook.

the collection: 47: total journals as of november journaling ADD: only four have been completely filled. two have been lost or accidentally trashed.

currently: halfway through #48. organizing old material for a handmade chapbook. arranging a collection of my favorite journal excerpts. using national novel writing month to brainstorm for a second novel. –goal: 50,000 words. “ i’m just hoping that things come out how i meant them when i started all this rambling. and i can’t remember writing this much. ever. and with every single thing i write down, there’s some tiny (or humungous) thought in it that i can’t stop from scratching around in my head. goddamn, i’m wordy.” - april 14, 2001
