Ask.fm is an app anyone can post anonymous questions and comments and has been used to send sexual, cyberbullying and other abusive content.

A question and answer app that allows users to ask questions anonymously. The app can be a gateway for cyberbullying.

Tinder is a dating app and uses GPS that links users Facebook account to find matches to their profile. Users can Like or Pass on results. If users select Like each other they are matched and introduced by Tinder and opens a chat.

Chatroulette is a chat website that connects random people from around the world for webcam-based conversations – no registration required. Most users find other members are men exposing their genitals.

Kik is a texting, photo and video sharing app that is often used for sexting. Kik is not recorded as a text message and does not appear on your phone bill.

Whisper allows users to anonymously post pictures and share their feelings and emotions. Strangers can like or comment on users secrets. There is a location setting, if enabled users are no longer anonymous.

Snapchat is a photo messaging app where users can send photos or videos and set a time limit, up to 10 seconds, before it will disappear. However, the photos can be saved and shared with SnapHack or save screen shot image.

Vine is an app that users can create and share a six second looping video on Twitter or Facebook. Kids can ‘Sext’ or create other inappropriate content to share.

WhatsApp has migrated from an app to a social network. Users can share messages, photos, videos, links and voice files. Messages can be sent anonymously.

Yik Yak is an anonymous, virtual bulletin board app where users can post messages. The app is location aware to users within 1.5 miles This app has been used to cyberbully and demean others. Yik Yak Yik Yak
