Dokumentation Ergebnisse 29./30 August 2006 / Folie 2 Folie 2 WP 1: Vulnerability AssessmentWP 2: Pilots for CCA / CCM  LAMG- Cuddalore –data collected and submitted the report  Completed Kadapakkam pilot –Pond renovation and bund  Kadapakkam village consists of 254 families with a total population of % agriculture workers and 25% fisher folk.  Pond -utilize for recharge dug wells & bore wells (4 around the pond), recharge ground water, rain harvesting and domestic usages.  70 m length, 45 m width, 2 m deep  Inlet & outlet construction. Water reaches the pond through agricultural drainage channel  9800 CUM water storage capacity Overview on activities in Year 3

Dokumentation Ergebnisse 29./30 August 2006 / Folie 5 Folie 5  27th Dec 2012 – Training to City Task Force Committee members – Ponneri  The Skillpro/Aide et Action, IFAD, Fire service, Revenue, Ponneri Chairperson, ward members, Executive officer and other related stakeholders were participated.  Result: V&NA replicated in 18 wards, V&NA for entire Town Panchayat (ponneri) being discussed  28th June 2013 –SLD at Cuddalore  Municipal chairman, councillor, Social Welfare Dept, Slum level federation leaders, Fire service, 17 ward members, SHG federation, CREED, MNTN, REAL NGOs were participated.  Result:  City TFC formed, decided to have mock drill on disaster management in all wards through Fire service Dept and instructed ward member to enrich awareness on rain water harvesting to the community.

Dokumentation Ergebnisse 29./30 August 2006 / Folie 6 Folie 6 24 th Sep DDMP –Thiruvallur – District officials Meeting Result:  The DC, Thiruvallur and Relief Commissioner, TN nominated nodal officer for supporting the development of VDMPs and DDMPs.  VDMP submitted for Kadapakkam, Thangal and Thirumalainagar  Training planned for 6 District officers by NIDM on CCA and DRR integration Organized Training on CCA/CCM in 9 villages Result:  Warm members discussed on other identified pilot activities in Panchayat Union meetings and succeeded  The community has submitted application to forest dept for coastal plantation: Perumalpettai  The activities identified through V&NA were discussed and given priority by the PRI  Recent cyclone (sea level raise, heavy rain) not caused salt water inflow into agri land: Seen the impact directly, thanked giz and Avvai for river bund construction: Kumarakudi  Dry and salt lands are ploughed and planted

Dokumentation Ergebnisse 29./30 August 2006 / Folie 7 Folie 7 Organized training on operation & maintenance in 3 villages (Pillaicolony, Thirumalainagar & Nadupalayam) Result:  Mini pipe repair done through community contribution-Pillai colony  Panchayat pays electricity bill regularly –Pillai colony  Approached Forest Dept and obtained 1500 saplings (vembu, pungan) planted coastal belt-Nadupalayam  Constructed Shutter –Karungal river in between Kaduvetti and Chinnakaraimedu: PWD Dept  Cement Revetment done by PRI for 400 metre in addition to 100 m: Kaduvetti  The pilot maintained through community contribution and activities identified through V&NA were discussed and given priority by the PRI

Dokumentation Ergebnisse 29./30 August 2006 / Folie 8 Folie 8  Replication:  Submitted Proposal for Adaptation Fund  Kumarakudi: Pond renovation  under NREG, the panchayat has renovated a Pond and through RGRY, constructed steps for the pond as replication.  Perumalpettai: Pond renovation  The community has discussed in the grama sabha meeting and decided to renovate a pond to recharge ground water and thereby mobilized funds from the community and from individual donors and renovated a pond  Pillaicolony:Desilting Drainage Channel  The Pillaicolony panchayat has decided and passed a resolution to desilt drainage channel and thereby through NREG, the community desilted the channel and renovated the well.  V&NA replicated in 18 wards, V&NA for entire Town Panchayat (ponneri) being discussed  Met SPC and discussed on up-scaling 
