Ecology Final Project: Tropical RainForest Gabriel Garza Mouret

The World After the 5 years of exploration in space it has finally payed off. We have finally have found a world where us humans can live in. We as scientists and explorers were in such a need of this finding that we thought of no other name for this world other than THE WORLD. We have found something familiar of this world to our own world besides the oxygen. We found out that this world contains similar factors as tropical rainforests back home. Now, as scientist Gabriel Garza I shall let you know about the data of The World.

Biotic Factors

Food Web

Producers Coconut Tree (Cocos nucifera) Seeds These are Producers because the seeds and the coconut tree can create food without using another live form. They instead do photosynthesis using the sun which is an abiotic factor. These live forms are the preys for the 1 st level consumers. Producers are named producers Because they produce there own energy (food).

1st Level Consumer These are 1st Level Consumers because They are predators for something but Someone still preys them. It is a first Level consumer because they are not Creating there own food but instead They feed of the plants or smaller Creatures. Parrot (Psittaciformes) Macaw (Ara macao) Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) Orangutan (Pongo) Ants (Formicidae)

Parasite Fleas (Siphonaptera) Fleas are Parasites because they live on other animals and take there nutrients from inside the hosts body by sucking on their blood. In The World they prey on Mammals like jaguars, chimpanzees and Orangutans. And there predator will be the Ants.

2nd Level Consumers Iguana (Iguana iguana) Python (Pythonidae)Jaguar (Panthera onca) These are the second level of consumers because they are not at the top at the food change but they are not in the bottom. The Iguana Preys on the fleas and the ants. The Python preys on the Parrots, iguanas, chimpanzees and orangutans. The Jaguar preys on the chimpanzees and the orangutans. Humans prey on pythons and jaguar.

Top Level Consumer Humans (Homo Sapien ) The Species of Homo Sapiens will be at the top of The food change. They eat all mammals and any Plant. They can only be eaten by jaguars or pythons But those occasions are very rare. They live for around 80 Years.

Decomposers and Scavenger Vulture (Cathartes aura) Scavengers such as the Vulture find the dead animals and eat them. While they eat the animals They break them down into smaller pieces. Decomposers are the the peak of the food web because this is when the food cycle starts to cycle again. What these decomposers will do is that Mushrooms eat will the dead bodies and the slime mold decaying organisms and break them down and send the nutrients to enrich the soil. Which later the soil is used by plants and so on the food web.

Predator and Prey There are many relationships of Predator and Prey in The World like the jaguar eating the chimpanzee. In this relationship the jaguar would be the predator because it is preying on the chimpanzee. Another Example is the iguana eating the ants. In this relationship the Iguana is the predator because it is going to eat the Prey.

Competition Competition in The World happens constantly. For Example when the Python and the Jaguar fight over Who gets to eat the chimpanzee.

Mutualisim Signs of Mutualism in the world are constantly happening for example when the parrots Eat the seeds because the parrots benefit by being fed. On the other hand the seeds benefit Because they are getting the seeds spread because the birds fly away to far places.

Commensalism Commensalism happens in The World when the Macaw seeks shelter in the Coconut Tree because the Macaw is benefiting because it gets shelter but the Coconut tree Does not care.

Parasitism Parasitism happens when the Flea sucks blood off the jaguar. It is parasitism because The flea lives on top of the jaguar. In this relationship the flea benefits from the blood Because it gets the nutrients for its body. While the Jaguar does not benefit because his Blood is going away.

Abiotic Factors

Time 20 hours in every day 257 days in every year

Seasons In The World there is only one seasons but in that season it has rainy and dry part.

Weather The Precipitation in The World goes around 225to 400 cm yearly. The Temperature goes around 19 to 29 degrees Celsius There is a lot of sunlight but the plants density only let 2% of the sunlight come through because there are so many plants.

Soil The humus in The World is very thin because once the plant decomposes (it takes around 6 weeks) it creates the thin humus which benefits the nutrients in the plants Sunlight over there in the world is very little for the plants that are small because the big trees get all the light and let little pass through. But that is why the plants have adapted to this small amount of sunlight This tropical rain forests are very fertile because they have a lot of productivity going around

Land Forms The World contains in different types of land forms such as… Mountains which is a feature that rises above surrounding areas and is bigger than a hill Valleys which is a land form that has a low spot which has the shape of a U or a V. These valleys provide a passage for the rivers Streams which is a land form where water flows through a path called a bed. Streams may also be called as a smaller river Rivers are different then streams just because of their size. A river is a bigger stream that meets a sea or another river. Rivers are a source of fresh water Wetlands are filled with water because the level the water reaches is close to the ground.
