© 2010 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. Cisco Confidential 17 National Australia Group The focused workshop revealed that: While the bank’s infrastructure was fit for purpose, they needed to reassess what that purpose was. Tools like social networking, anywhere access and remote collaboration were fundamentally changing the way that customers and employees expected to communicate. The Managing Director of Business wanted to deliver branches live video meetings and Q&As, eventually escalating to business and High Net Worth customer sessions, training and marketing events. The marketing team were interested in how digital branch signage could replace paper based marketing material, which was quickly out of date. The bank also wanted to roll out new business applications such as central document imaging and deliver a new Microsoft deployment. Seeing is believing. We put together a Proof of Concept for each of the key areas, including powerful live demos, which the customer loved. True transformation across the business. We addressed multiple stakeholder concerns – and momentum built as Cisco touched more key areas with the final solution rolled out across 425 branches. A strategic workshop discussion enabled National Australia Group to tightly link Business evolution and Technology evolution to redefine how they delivered services to both customers and staff. National Australia Group ’s own name for this solution from Cisco, “The Branch Transformation Project”.

Key learning – we need to be clear and concise about what we’re trying to achieve: a change in relationship and a more strategic, business-led approach. We have also been delivering a better level of engagement and driving business relevance at banks across Italy by running strategic Cisco workshops.
