TASK BRIEF Connecting Science © Hodder Education 2009 Designing a further visual perception test You have seen some examples of how psychologists plan experiments to test how people interpret the information they see. Your task is to design another test of visual perception. The test could be about stimuli that affect attention (what we notice). Or it could be about how different one object has to be from others to be noticed as different.

TASK BRIEF Connecting Science © Hodder Education 2009 Designing a visual perception test What is your enquiry question? What do you think will happen (your hypothesis)? How will you test this?

TASK BRIEF Connecting Science © Hodder Education 2009 Designing a visual perception test Try testing it on your family or friends. What did you find out? Does your data support your idea? Was your experiment well designed, and how do you know?
