Davis 07 How to Insert New Slides  First you go to the tool bar at the top of the screen and click on Insert.  Next you click on New Slide.  Then your new slide will come up.

Davis 07 How to Insert a Footer  First go to the tool bar at the top of the screen and click on View.  Then go down to header/footer and click on it.  A screen will pop up and you will have to fill in your information.  Put in what you want your footer to say in the slot that says footer.  Right under that it will have a check box that says don’t show on title page. Click it.  After you have clicked the check box, now go to the right side of the pop up screen and click apply to all slides.

Davis 07 How to add slide transitions  First go to the tool bar at the top of the screen and click on Slide Show.  A drop down menu will come up and click on slide transitions.  After doing this a menu will come up on the right side. Click on the transition you would like to use.  Once you have made your selection click on Apply to all Slides.

Davis 07 How to add Custom Animation  Go to the tool bar at the top of your screen and click on Slide Show.  A drop down menu will come down and you will see Custom Animation.  Once you click on it a menu will come on the side of your window and you will be able to add effects to you power point.

Davis 07 How to Insert Sound Clips  First go to the tool bar at the top of the screen. Then go to Insert.  A drop down menu will come down and you will see movies and sounds.  There are a couple of options you can choose from to add sounds.  Once you find out which option you want to use click on it.  If you decide to use a sound from the clip organizer a screen will come up on the side of your window and it will have sounds you can choose from.  If you want to use a custom sound from a file you will open it up when you click on sound from file.

Davis 07 How to Insert a Picture or ClipArt  Go to the tool bar at the top of your screen and click on Insert.  A drop down menu will come up and you will see picture. There are a lot options so once you find the one you want to use click on it.  If you want a picture from a file, click on file and then click on your picture you want to use.  If you want to use clip art then just like the sound files a window will come up and you can choose which clipart you would like to use.

Davis 07 How to Insert Hyperlinks  To enter an internal hyperlink you go to the tool bar at the top of the screen and click on insert.  Next go to Hyperlink and click on it, next a window will pop up. To the left of the window there will be options you can choose from, click on the place in this document.  Once you have done this you can choose any slide you want to put in your slide.  I have chosen the first slide of my presentation.  First Slide First Slide  To enter an external hyperlink you follow the same steps as the internal but once you get to the window you click on existing file or webpage and click on the link you would like to add.  I chose my webpage to put into my presentation.  Lauren Davis' Webpage Lauren Davis' Webpage

Davis 07 How to add Action Buttons  Go to the tool bar at the top of your window and click on Slide Show.  A drop down menu will come down and you will see action buttons. If you hold your mouse over it another menu will pop out and you will see the different options of action buttons to choose from. The best one to use it the plain one. Using this one will allow you to add your own text and designs to it. Action Button

Davis 07 How to Insert a Table  Go to the tool bar at the top of your screen and click on the Insert menu. A drop down menu will come up and click on Table.  Next you will be able to add as many rows and columns as you need.

Davis 07 How to add an Organizational Chart 1. Go to the tool bar at the top of your screen. Click on insert and then picture. 2. A menu will come out and you will see an option that says Organizational Chart. Click on it. After that is done your chart will pop up in your slide.

Davis 07 How to Insert a Chart  Go to the tool bar at the top of your screen and click Insert.  A drop down menu will come down and you will see a tab that says chart. Click on it.  Then a window will pop up with option to which kind of chart you want. Choose what you want and click ok.

Davis 07 How to Modify the background of a slide.  Go to the tool bar at the top of your window and click Format.  Then choose Slide Design. There will be a window on the right side. Click on the option that says color schemes. Once you have chosen the color scheme you want, right click it and choose apply to selected slides.

Davis 07 How to change the Slide Design. Go to the tool bar at the top of the screen and click format. Choose slide design and choose which background you would like to apply. Once you have a background, right click on it and select apply to selected slides.

Davis 07 How to Sort Slides  To the left of your window there is a place where all your slides are lined up. At the bottom of it there are some options.  The second option is to sort your slides. If you click on it, it will line up all your slides and you will then be able to drag them and sort them in the order you would like.

Davis 07 4 ways to run the slideshow  1. Go to the tool bar at the top of your screen and click on View and then choose View Slideshow  2. Go to the tool bar at the top of your window and click on slide show. A menu will pull down and then you will be able to click on View Show.  3. Another way of doing it is to hit Shift + F5 on your keyboard and start your slide show from the slide you are on at the time.  4. The last way you can view your slide show is to click on F5 on your keyboard. This will start you at the beginning of your show.

Davis 07 How to Print 6 Handouts on a Page  Go to the tool at the top of your window and click on File.  Go to Print and a window will pop up.  Towards the bottom there is a section that says print what, use the drop down menu to choose handouts.  Once you have done that you can choose to print 6 off on one page.

Davis 07 How to Insert AutoShapes  Go to the tool bar at the top of your window and click on Insert.  A drop down menu will appear and go to Picture.  Hold your mouse over it and another menu will come out.  Click on AutoShapes and a small window will pop up to give you options you can use to add auto shapes into your presentation.

Davis 07 How to Hide a Slide  Go to the tool bar at the top of your window and click on slide show.  A drop down menu will pop up and you will see the option of Hide Slide.  Click on this and when you play your slide show it will skip over this slide.

Davis 07 How to Delete a Slide  Go to the tool bar at the top of your window and click on edit.  A drop down menu will come down and you will see an option that says delete slide.  Click on it and it will delete your slide you have selected.

Davis 07 How to Center Objects on a Slide  To center objects on a slide you go to the bottom of your window and click on Draw.  A menu will pop up and you will see the option align or distribute. Hold your mouse over that and first click at the bottom relative to slide.  Once that option is clicked you can then go back and click Align Center. This will then align your objects in the center.
