Who writes letters anymore?! Hand-written letters AND s have a very specific structure in French. If this structure is not observed, you can be mistaken for being rude!

Lettre officiel? Oui ou non? If you are being OFFICIEL, you need to be FORMAL: Use “vous”, or vouvoyer If you are being relaxed, be informal: use “tu”, or tutoyer

3 parties d’une lettre 1.Introductory greeting with person’s title: Monsieur, Madame, Mademoiselle, Docteur, M. le Directeur, etc.. 2.Statement of intent- get to the point; what’s the letter for? 3.After you’ve said what you need to say, wrap it up with a final salutation THEN your signature.
