Click your mouse to continue. Personalized Menus When you open a menu for the first time, the default menu items appear on the short menu. Click the double-arrow to expand the menu; your menu might expand by itself if Office is set to show full menus after a short delay

Click your mouse to continue. Personalized Menus To display the full menu, click the double-arrow at the bottom of the menu, then click the desired command. Light-gray commands are those appearing only on the full menu Dark-gray commands appear on the short menu

Click your mouse to continue. Personalized Menus If you click a command that appears on the full menu, that command will appear on the short menu the next time you use it. The Header and Footer command now appears on the short menu because it was recently used

Setting Menus to Open After a Short Delay If you want the full menu to open after a short delay, instead of needing to click the double-arrow: Click Tools on the menu bar, and then click Customize. Click the Options tab. Click the Show full menus after a short delay check box to select it. Click the Close button.
