I would therefore recommend printing them out to take with you along with the EWB Challenge design brief ( Some of the slides are optional, and some require some preparation to input information specific to the university you are giving the presentation at. These slides are identified in the overview below as well as in the notes accompanying each slide. Slide 2: Background welcome slide to show whilst students are entering room. Needs some details filling in Slides 3-4: An activity to get the students to fill out our pre-Challenge survey - note: students will need mobile internet access, so please feel free to do this in a different way if there is no phone signal in the lecture hall for example, could still use slide 3 and then the survey link is also given at the end of the presentation so that students can fill it out later. This survey is important for us to check achievement of learning outcomes for the Challenge are being achieved (there is a post Challenge survey), but also hopefully useful for the students themselves. The conclusion of this activity leads into the introduction to the Challenge Slides 5-9: Outline the rhetoric behind the Challenge - i.e. why the learning outcomes are useful and applicable to all engineers Slide 10: Introduces the aims and structure of the Challenge (i.e. participation & Finals) and how it fits with the rhetoric just explained Slides 11-14: Introduces the context for this year's Challenge - that it's in Nepal and the community partner is NEWAH Slides 15-22: These are optional slides as each one introduces the 7 different design areas, you can choose which ones if any you'd like to present and run through. This is where I'd recommend having the design brief to hand as it has a bit more detail in it, but at a high level the key information is in the slide notes Slides 23-25: At a high level these slides cover what needs to be included in the student's thinking when going through the design process with slides 22 & 23 highlighting some of this through an example. Slides 26-30: These slides tell students that they should head to the EWB Challenge website as a first port of call and sign up to the discussion forum, the slides show them shots of the website to help with their navigation Slide 31: This is an optional slide, and one that needs your input.
