Honor Your Parents

Share Your Thoughts! Solicit their definition on Honor Why is this important? - Consequence of disobeying (grounded, no TV, parent’s upset, nagging) - Consequence of obeying (God’s blessings (5 th Commandment), we are the children of God) - Find Bible verses supporting your idea (Concordance) Why do parents discipline us? (They love us, for our own good, right from wrong) In what active ways can you demonstrate that you obey your parents? (Go into our “Activity” program Name Bible characters who honor their parents - What happened to them? Give real-life stories on obeying parents - What happened to them?

Activity Material: Board, marker, brain power Method: 1.List ALL the household chores done at your home 2.Circle the ones you helped out (Point: demonstrate that their effort is small relative to that of their parents) 3.Pick 1 item and practice it well during the week 4.Report to the class on your progress next week.
