I SURRENDER MY WILL IF YOU ASKED ME TO SURRENDER TO YOU A PAIR OF SOCKS...NO PROBLEM IF YOU ASKED ME TO SURRENDER MY HOME...PROBLEM THERE ARE SOME THINGS WE VALUE MUCH MORE THAN OTHERS

I SURRENDER MY WILL A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO WE TALKED ABOUT OUR FREE WILL OUR FREE WILL IS PROBABLY THE LAST THING ON EARTH THAT WE WOULD AGREE TO GIVE UP THE THOUGHT OF GIVING UP OUR WILL WOULD FRIGHTEN MOST

I SURRENDER MY WILL 1. THE BIBLE SAYS... THE WILL OF GOD MUST BE DONE FROM THE HEART (EPH. 6:6) IT WAS THE PRAYER OF MANY THAT WE DO THE WILL OF GOD (COL. 4:12; HEB. 13:21)

I SURRENDER MY WILL 2. TRUST AND OBEY IF I WERE FORCED TO SURRENDER MY WILL (POWER OF ATTORNEY), WHO WOULD I SURRENDER IT TO? OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE THAT I LOVE AND TRUST, THAT I KNOW LOVES ME! ON EARTH, WHO MIGHT THAT BE?

I SURRENDER MY WILL 2. TRUST AND OBEY THE QUESTION IS, DO WE TRUST THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS WHAT IS BEST FOR US? HAS GOD EVER BROKEN A PROMISE? JOHN 3:16

I SURRENDER MY WILL 2. TRUST AND OBEY GOD’S ULTIMATE DESIRE IS THAT THE WORLD BE SAVED (II PET. 3:9) ROMANS 5:6-8 TITUS 3:4-7 DOES THAT SOUND LIKE SOMEONE YOU CAN TRUST?

I SURRENDER MY WILL 3. COMMUNICATION CREATES CLARITY IT’S DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW GOD’S WILL IF WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THAT WILL IS WE MAY KNOW THAT HE LOVES US AND COMMANDS IT, BUT WE ALSO WANT TO KNOW WHAT HIS WILL INVOLVES

I SURRENDER MY WILL 3. COMMUNICATION CREATES CLARITY THAT COMES ONLY THROUGH A DILIGENT STUDY OF GOD’S WORD “THEREFORE DO NOT BE UNWISE, BUT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE WILL OF THE LORD IS” (EPH. 5:17)

I SURRENDER MY WILL 3. COMMUNICATION CREATES CLARITY HOW ARE WE TO BE FILLED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL? (COL. 1:9) PAUL WAS TOLD THAT HE NEEDED TO KNOW GOD’S WILL (ACTS 22:14) ALL KNOWLEDGE COMES THROUGH GOD’S WORD (II TIM. 3:14-17)

I SURRENDER MY WILL 4. WHAT DID JESUS DO? IT’S HUMBLING TO THINK THAT EVEN CHRIST (GOD IN THE FLESH) SUBMITTED HIS WILL TO THE FATHER “MY FOOD IS TO DO THE WILL OF HIM WHO SENT ME, AND TO FINISH HIS WORK” (JN. 4:34)

I SURRENDER MY WILL 4. WHAT DID JESUS DO? NO ONE EVER SAID THAT DOING THE WILL OF GOD WAS EASY IT WASN’T SO FOR CHRIST YET HE LEFT US AN EXAMPLE BY ENDURING AND SURRENDERING TO GOD’S WILL
