TEL History Concept envisioned by TENN-SHARE In 1999, the Tennessee Electronic Library was created by TN legislature TEL began as a collection of 18 databases with only one vendor and solely supported by federal funds Literature Resource Center was added to TEL in 2006, made possible by pledges from Tennessee Libraries. In , TEL added 4 new products to its collections, which was made possible additional funding provided by the Tennessee General Assembly.
