Mid-Phase Project Update MSD II P14347

Updated Documentation Updated Project Plan Updated BOM

Arrow Attachment Designs

Battery Selection Panasonic CR2032 (3V) Two in series for main voltage supply, resistor to bring down to appropriate level 220mAhr Cheap, can be sold in bulk Diameter: 20mm, height: 3mm

Transceiver / Raspberry Pi Update Attempted to transmit analog signal using transceivers with no success. Decided to test digital signals instead because that relates to our application. Came across a boot error ‘Kernel Panic’ and would not allow Raspberry Pi to run due to issues with the boot configuration file. This forced us to restore the Pi back to it default settings Plan to use a code found online which will write the message ‘Hello’ at the input, RxD, and read it at the output, TxD.

Adafruit 1115 Blue + White 16 x 2 LCD + Keypad Kit ($29.95)

Team Assessment Electrically, raspberry pi analysis and debugging causing problems Still questions to be answered: smaller transceiver, antenna design, etc. Some parts have already arrived, others need to be ordered ASAP Mechanically, not much to accomplish Arrow attachment PCB layout led to initial designs Slightly behind schedule

Next Steps Rechargeable batteries for testing purposes Raspberry pi needs to be sorted out ASAP (order another?) After raspberry pi situated, need to send signal from GPS receiver to transceiver Test transceivers Refining mechanical arrow attachment design PCB discussions
