DARE statistics 2011 This year saw a significant rise in eligibility for both DARE (+322) and HEAR (+899) applicants. There were 2551 online applications for DARE through the CAO of which 2160 (84.7%) provided supporting documentation and were screened. IneligibleEligibleTotal Screened DARE % 51% DARE % 58% 243 applicants were screened (i.e. supplied supporting documents) for both DARE and HEAR as against 40 in 2010.

Post-entry Supports for Students with Disabilities All students with a disability can register with the Disability Support Service, irrespective of whether they come through DARE or not. A needs assessment is conducted to identify your specific support requirements. Supports may include: –Orientation Programmes –Learning Support –Assistive Technology –Library Support –Exam Support –Note-taking/Support Worker –Academic Tuition –On Campus Transport –Educational Assistant or Personal Assistant if student has profound physical needs
