Dare to Dream 8 th Grade: Careers in the Community Microsoft, 2011

Pre-Test 1.Name someone in history who overcame obstacles in order to achieve his/her career goals. 2.What obstacles did he/she face? 3.How was he/she able to overcome the obstacles to succeed in his/her career?

Review What are some of your personal strengths? What careers did you identify that match those strengths? How will those strengths help you in your careers of interest? Microsoft, 2011

Dare to Dream Stories Choose one story to read from the list provided. Read the story on your own. Pay close attention to the person’s career goals, obstacles to achieving their goals, and the strategies and strengths used to overcome the obstacles.
