Popular Culture Boxes Now available from the Literacy Team

Popular Culture Boxes There are nine different boxes to choose from and each one contains a variety of books, puzzles, games and multimedia. Each box can be borrowed for a full half term but must be booked in advance.

Thomas the Tank Engine Inside this pack you will find a selection of books including Good Morning Engines and Thomas and the Jet Engine. You will also find several puzzles such as jigsaws and top trumps cards. There is also a set of small world characters and a play mat featuring all the tracks for you to create your own stories.

Balamory Inside the Balamory box you will find the Story Go Round. Characters such as PC Plum, Miss Hoodie and Edie McCredie travel round whilst the familiar theme tune is playing. There are also books and games included along with the Balamory CD-Rom and Mysteries with PC Plum DVD.

Football The football pack contains a football shaped rug and cushion for your story corner and a number of books including Leagues Apart, Football Skills and My Mum’s put on the Transfer List. There are also copies of popular football magazines like Match and Shoot. There is also a Subbutteo Dream team Stadium and Gary Lineker’s Football Challenge DVD.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory The Charlie & the Chocolate Factory pack features a set of golden tickets and everything you need to set up your own factory including Playdoh, shape cutters and a recipe book. The original DVD is included along with many of Roald Dahl’s classic books including Matilda, The Magic Finger, Fantastic Mr Fox, Esio Trot, The Twits and many more.

Harry Potter The Harry Potter box contains all of the books in the series as well as the poster from the official Harry Potter movie. You can set up your own Harry Potter laboratory using the test tubes, Magic Spells book and Potions Order book. There is also box of magic tricks and a magic hat from which you can pull a rabbit.

Bob the Builder Inside the Bob the Builder box you will find a whole set of books about Bob’s Machine Team. There are several other books and comics as well as and audio CD called Bob’s Big Surprise. There is a setting box and miniature toys to recreate your favourite stories and make your own and the DVD Teamwork Challenge.

Scooby Doo The Scooby Doo box contains a selection of books including Scooby Doo Dinosaur Dig and Scooby Doo Annual There are models of each character and a setting box to create your own Scooby stories and the Cyber Chase game.

Spongebob Squarepants Inside the Spongebob Squarepants box you will find mini soft toys of your favourite characters, Spongebob, Squidward and Patrick. The Spongebob Squarepants movie on DVD is included along with Nautical Nonsense DVD. There are also a collection of books including Ice Cream Dreams and The Amazing Spongebobini and a CD-Rom quad pack.
