LED Lighting Lighting the way to the future

Background Information  Light Emitting Diodes (LED) have been around for more than 40 years.  Efficiencies and brightness have continued to increase over the years of development.  LED lights use 80% less power than incandescent and 50% less power than fluorescent lights, with the same brightness.  LED lights last 10 times longer than fluorescent and times longer than incandescent lights.  LED lights will last at least 12 years in a retail store environment.  LED lights don’t flicker & are very directional, unlike incandescent and fluorescent lights.  Lighting quality is comparable to a cool white compact fluorescent light.  LED lights produce little heat, do not generate RF interference as fluorescent lights do, operate in hot or cold environments.
