The Thomas T. Mercer Joint Prize American Association for Aerosol Research & International Society for Aerosols in Medicine

The Thomas T. Mercer Joint Prize “recognizes excellence in the areas of pharmaceutical aerosols and inhalable materials.” The award honors the legacy of Thomas T. Mercer, an outstanding researcher and author, whose work encompassed aerosol physics and chemistry as well as inhalation toxicology, industrial hygiene, and health physics.

2008 Recipient of the Thomas T. Mercer Joint Prize Warren H. Finlay, Ph. D. Professor of Mechanical Engineering, University of Alberta Pioneer and world leader in applying advanced engineering methods to medical aerosols - Authored “The Mechanics of Inhaled Pharmaceutical Aerosols: An Introduction” - Over 100 peer reviewed papers - Sixteen patents, many with international filings -“one of the top pharmaceutical aerosol laboratories in the world and is certainly the best of its kind in Canada.”
