Proposal for: ACM SCENE 2005 Conference at Drexel University

Acronyms ACM – Association of Computer Machinery SCENE – Student Chapter Event NorthEast A.I. – Artificial Intelligence

Purpose To propose that Drexel University should host the ACM SCENE 2005 event on February 19, 2005.To propose that Drexel University should host the ACM SCENE 2005 event on February 19, 2005.

Objectives Educate prospective attendees on the conference theme : Artificial Intelligence Encourage local Philadelphia area students to share ideas related to the conference theme & its application to industry Promote ACM Membership and Unisys Awareness Create Discussion between local ACM chapters Create Contacts with local professionals Enjoy a day of lectures, food, and fun

Design Considerations Hope to gain interest in the ACM from all prospective attendees Directed towards entire academic community Assure that cost are minimized but not at the expense of quality Obtain written contracts with speakers 3 weeks before event providing opportunity for review (January 29 th, 2005) Provide final analysis report / attendees survey with future ACM events in mind

Why Drexel? Lecture halls are large (300 + Capacity) Yet, small enough for attendees to interact Lecture halls equipped with latest technologies Co-operative education program provides strong links to local corporations Drexel is ideally located
