June 28, 2002FCC WISP Briefing - West21 Systems WHY WE DO IT We are committed to serving an underserved marketWe are committed to serving an underserved market –Spotty or no DSL –No cable modem service WISPs ARE THE THIRD ACCESS PLATFORM TO THE HOME IN SOME CASES, WE ARE THE ONLY BROADBAND ACCESS

June 28, 2002FCC WISP Briefing - West21 Systems WHY WE DO IT Installed Base ~ 12 wireless points -- hundreds of people served!Installed Base ~ 12 wireless points -- hundreds of people served! –2 Community Service Centers Job Skills & GED Training Community Access –Small Private School –Stone Pony –Internet Café (w/HotSpot for public access) –Residential Customers Because the schools and community centers offer internet access to the the public -- most of whom do not even own a computer -- broadband internet access is provided to hundreds of people who would not otherwise have it. One interesting side-effect of our urban environment is that the Café location, for example, gives us wire line access to ~30 additional apartments via outdoor ethernet wiring in the alley behind the buildings
