Order Hemiptera Earlier editions of ‘100 Common Insects of New Mexico’ showed two Orders---Hemiptera AND Homoptera More recent studies of these Orders strongly suggests the two are even more closely related The ‘new Hemiptera’ now includes all of the ‘former Homoptera’. All have simple metamorphosis and sucking mouthparts.
