LASSO SOCCER ACADEMY 2014 The Soccer Academy Training Method focuses on teaching the the technical skills you will need to become the most effective soccer player you can be. Above all else, the soccer player must be self motivated and eager to put 100% effort into team building. Motivation and effort are critical in reaching your potential developmentally. For this reason The Soccer Academy emphasizes Ball Mastery in dribbling, first touch, striking and passing as the most significant aspects of becoming a top player. We Focus to develop each players technical and tactical abilities Technical Play – Individual skills involving motor function - ball control and movement (shooting, dribbling, trapping, passing, moves, balance, speed, agility and joint stabilization) Tactical Play – Decision making, strategy and game situations This component is more relevant for players who possess strong technical abilities. Soccer Academy Training method focuses on teaching the The technical skills you need to become the best soccer player you can be. LASSO SOCCER ACADEMY 2014 SPRING TRAINING – Components: Shooting and Defending SHOOTING TECHNIQUE The spring academy will enhance each players abilities to shoot and score by providing instruction in three key areas 1. Striking technique – Laces, instep and outside of the foot 2. Change of speed and direction to beat a defender in the attacking 1/3 of the field 3. Scoring and Assisting through improved field awareness – Techniques for breaking down defensive pressure through individual and combination play PRINCIPLES OF DEFENDING 1. Pressure - Angle of approach to ball carrier and delaying attack 2. Cover - Supporting role that denies dribbling/passing options 3.
