Pele is considered the best soccer player that ever lived.

What happened in the beginning?  He was raised in a very poor family in Tres Coracos, Brazil His name was Edson Arantes do Nascimento He was born on October 23, Pele was the first born of three children.

How did it happen He was not noticed until he was 11 years old. He first learned the game of soccer from his father, who was a center forward until his career was ended by a fractured leg.

Accomplishments He scored 1281 goals in his career. He played in 1360 games. He almost scored 1 goal per game. That is crazy for a soccer player. He was the youngest player to win a world cup when he was 17 years old. In that same game he scored two goals. He played on 4 world cup teams for Brazil and won 3 world cup championships.

Pele Comes to the U.S. Pelé came out of retirement in 1975 when he joined the New York Cosmos. He retired from soccer for good in 1979.
