MCEACHERN GIRLS SOCCER

 ALL FORMS COMPLETED PRIOR TO TRYOUTS.  Physical Form (with insurance information and county conduct policies)  Concussion Awareness Form  Confirm eligibility (see Coach Jones) EXPECTATIONS FOR PARENTS

 MUST RESIDE IN THE MCEACHERN DISTRICT.  MUST BE CLEARED THROUGH THE GHSA.  If you have transferred into MHS this year you need to contact Coach Jones immediately to verify clearance in time for season.  MUST PASS 5/8 CLASSES.  Semester classes count as 2 classes.  Year Long classes count as 1 class.  Incompletes count as failures.  MUST ATTEND 2 FULL CLASS PERIODS DAILY.  ISS / OSS = INELLIGIBLE.  FRIDAYS COUNT TOWARD THE ENTIRE WEEKEND. NOTES ON ELIGIBILITY

 PURCHASE A SPIRIT PACK ($100 PER PLAYER).  Spirit Packs allow us to provide many additional elements that make McEachern Athletics special to our players. Hoodies, spirit tees, practice apparel, are all funded through these packs.  Your Spirit pack will include a hoodie ($25) and Gameday tee ($12), and training pant ($40). Remaining funds will be used for Senior Night activities, staff apparel, sideline supplies, and/or placed in reserve.  Please make checks out to McEachern Athletic Booster Club. NEWS FOR PARENTS

 COMMIT TO WORK CONCESSIONS FOR AT LEAST ONE SOCCER MATCH.  Not one in which your daughter is playing.  We usually staff the boys games on double header nights.  ACQUIRE PROPER EQUIPMENT / APPARELL FOR YOUR ATHELTE.  NOCSAE approved shin-guards. (stamp must be visible on guard)  Proper soccer boots.  Single color practice socks. EXPECTATIONS FOR PARENTS

 WANT TO ELEVATE THE SOCCER EXPERIENCE AT McEACHERN? CONSIDER CONTRIBUTING IN THE ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING WAYS:  Volunteer to provide a pasta meal for one of our teams on the night before a match. You can team up with other parents, too!  Organize and serve as a liaison to collect monies and provide Subs before a long bus ride.  Volunteer to serve as videographer for a soccer team.  Volunteer to serve as timekeeper for a team.  Volunteer to provide fruit / water to athletes in the time between the end of school and game time.  Create a surplus of funds in the account to provide cold- weather gear or sideline enhancements for our teams or to provide additional tees shirts for use at practice. PARENTS RAISING THE BAR!

 LOVE THIS GAME!  PROMOTE AN ENVIRONMENT OF TRUST.  You are expected not only to improve your worth as a player, but also to improve the worth of those around you. This is a team sport and we are all capable of error, just as we are all capable of overcoming any obstacle. To be a teammate, you must remain dutiful trustworthy.  PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE.  You are expected to maintain an appropriate attitude toward your teammates, your coaches, and your opponents at any and all times.  You are expected to follow the leadership of your team captains. EXPECTATIONS FOR ATHLETES

 BE A MODEL STUDENT.  Keep up your grades! Eligibility revolves around being a student!  School discipline cuts your playing time!  Off property activities can influence your eligibility! You have elected to hold yourself to a higher accountability than a regular student, be worthy of that honor.  PLAYING TIME IS NOT GUARANTEED.  Playing time is determined solely by the coaching staff and is not open for discussion.  A player may be suspended or dismissed from the team at any point in which the coaching staff feels such a move is in the best interest of McEachern Soccer. EXPECTATIONS FOR ATHLETES

 ATTEND EVERY PRACTICE. 4-6PM DAILY  Changes in time or location are your responsibility.  Sign up for the text alerts to (573)  Only a pre-arranged exemption for academic or medical reasons will be excused. You will be expected to make up any missed conditioning/training opportunities.  WEAR PROPER APPAREL AT EVERY PRACTICE. (INCUDING SHINGUARDS).  Players will be issued practice shorts. Keep them sanitary and ready for practice. Only solid color socks will be allowed.  Shin guards must have the NOCSAE stamp. EXPECTATIONS FOR ATHLETES

 RETURN ALL EQUIPMENT TO STORAGE AFTER PRACTICE / GAME.  RUN SIDELINES (BALLGIRL) FOR AT LEAST ONE MATCH.  KEEP THE LOCKER ROOM CLEAN, SAFE AND UNIFYING.  Practice time can/may be extended to maintain facility when needed. EXPECTATIONS FOR ATHLETES

 WEAR PREDETERMINED ATTIRE / UNIFORM ON GAME DAY.  ARRIVE ON TIME FOR MATCHES AND/OR DEPARTURES.  Make arrangements for transportation.  BE IN GAME ATTIRE AT ALL TIMES ON THE SIDELINE. EXPECTATIONS FOR ATHLETES

 ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MAY BE ASSESSED TO DETERMINE TEAM SELECTION:  Soccer Acumen (Team and Individual play)  Soccer Knowledge  Athletic capacity  Drills  Simulated game play  Willingness to learn and achieve  Sportsmanship / personal conduct TRYOUTS

 ROSTERS CAN BE FILLED AND CLOSED AT ANY TIME BEGINNING JAN. 20.  WE WILL CLOSE TRYOUTS WITH ROSTERS TOTALLING NO MORE THAN 36 PLAYERS.  ATHLETES CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN MCEACHERN WINTER SPORTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRYOUT FOR SOCCER AFTER THEIR CURRENT SEASON ENDS.  SENIORS MAY ONLY COMPETE AT THE VARSITY LEVEL. TRYOUTS

 Jan. 20 – first day of tryouts / practice.  All paperwork must be completed AND confirmed PRIOR to this date!  A player may be cut from the roster at any point beginning on this date.  Feb. 10 – first match!!. IMPORTANT DATES
