Colonies France was colonized by the Greeks and the Romans and Germans. Later, they established colonies in Polynesia, the Indian Ocean, Caribean, off the western coast of Mexico, within and off the eastern coast of Africa, and Antarctica. They consider July 14th their independence day when they overthrew the monarchy. (“France” Wikipedia).

Government The government of France is “a unitary semi- presidential republic” (“France” Wikipedia). This means the single national government has a higher power than the states and that they have both a president and a prime minister. They have democratic elections (“Semi-Presidential System” & “Unitary State”)

Impressions France seems to be an old culture with a modern, sophisticated view of the future. It has a long history and has influenced other countries around the world. But I think the French want to be cool with their fancy food and clothing. I think the French are proud people.
