Time to Flourish

Proliferation of personal / academic tutoring schemes Difficulties managing research students Increase in performance management Executive coaching Why to Flourish?

Personal space Private User-owned User controlled Shared space (one-to-few) Shared privacy Co-ownership Co-control (ish) Organisational space Privacy by trust Owned by org Tutor-controlled Flourish: the space in the middle! Pebble+ Flourish ATLAS

Spend 5 minutes talking in half-tables about the kinds of things you would expect to see in a system like Flourish… …based on the scant information you have so far! How to Flourish?

Now, write down some user goals: As a user I would like to… As a guide I would like to… As an administrator I would like to… How to Flourish?

Provide tools to support learners and their guided learning, for example:  students and their tutors  researchers and their supervisors  performers and their coaches Learners will be able to:  See all their grades and feedback in one place  Maintain a continual dialogue with their 'guides'  View all upcoming tasks and milestones  Gain insight into how they're performing relative to others Guides will be able to:  See everything their allocated learners can see in Flourish  Group learners into sets  Allocate tasks and milestones  Report on progress  Communicate easily with individuals and groups Flourish will:

What’s it look like? …what’s next isn’t necessarily the answer – but it will give you a good clue as to the direction of travel

Design your own feature Take an idea from today and describe it as a tool or feature. What is it called? Who will use it? What benefit will it bring them? What does it rely on in order to work? What else do we need to know about it?

Flourish will be available on request as a Beta release in September 2014
