Main Characters Jonas The Giver Jonas’ Parents Gabriel

Setting The setting takes place in a town where it has a socialism government where everyone has a home, food, a job, and bicycle if you are the age of 9 or above.

Main Events 1. Live in city where everyone is equal 2. The Ceremony of ages come, at age 12, you are given a job 3. The person giving the jobs missed Jonas but later comes back, giving him the Receiver 4. Jonas on the next day, goes to the current receiver’s office, where he gets his memories of colors, cold and hot things 5. Jonas’ mother works as a mom who takes care of babies and she brings home a new baby called Gabriel

Main Events (cont.) 6. Gabriel sleeps in Jonas’ room only because he like Jonas so much 7. The giver gives Jonas more memories, but the painful ones now, like burns, cuts, and Jonas stays with him for the night 8. Jonas now has many memories and has most of them now, a lot where the Giver has forgotten 9. Jonas becomes more alone and does not take his daily pill everyday and his parents are worried. 10. Jonas becomes the new Receiver and the Giver goes home to stay with his family

Plot The plot of the story is where Jonas is given a job at age 12 and is named the Receiver and gets memories of things like colors, cold and hot things. He then, cause of this, becomes more alone.
