Basic Beliefs in IslamBasic Beliefs in Islam 1 Attributes of ALLAH(SWT)Attributes of ALLAH(SWT) 2 Who Created ALLAH(SWT)Who Created ALLAH(SWT) 3 What is Origin of UniverseWhat is Origin of Universe 4 Today’s Overview

Belief in ‘ALLAH(SWT)‘ (God) Belief in Angels Belief in ALLAH (SWT)’s Revealed Books Belief in Prophets and Messengers of ALLAH(SWT) Belief in the last Day of Judgment Belief in Al-Qadar Some Basic Belief in Islam

Muslims believe in one, unique, incomparable ALLAH (SWT), Who has no son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped but Him alone. He is the true ALLAH (SWT), and every other deity is false. He has the most magnificent names and sublime perfect attributes. No one shares His divinity, nor His attributes. In the Quran, ALLAH (SWT) describes Himself: Say, “He is ALLAH (SWT), the One. ALLAH (SWT), to Whom the creatures turn for their needs. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none like Him.” (Quran, 112:1-4) No one has the right to be invoked, supplicated, prayed to, or shown any act of worship, but ALLAH (SWT) alone. Belief in ALLAH(SWT) (God)

ALLAH (SWT) is not Jesus, and Jesus is not ALLAH (SWT). Even Jesus himself rejected this. ALLAH (SWT) has said in the Quran: Indeed, they have disbelieved who have said, “ALLAH (SWT) is the Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary.” The Messiah said, “Children of Israel, worship ALLAH (SWT), my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates partners in worship with ALLAH (SWT), then ALLAH (SWT) has forbidden Paradise for him, and his home is the Fire (Hell). For the wrongdoers, there will be no helpers.” (Quran, 5:72) ALLAH (SWT) is not a trinity. ALLAH (SWT) has said in the Quran: Indeed, they disbelieve who say, “ALLAH (SWT) is the third of three (in a trinity),” when there is no ALLAH (SWT) but one ALLAH (SWT). If they desist not from what they say, truly, a painful punishment will befall the disbelievers among them. Would they not rather repent to ALLAH (SWT) and ask His forgiveness? For ALLAH (SWT) is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a messenger... (Quran, 5:73-75) -cont Belief in ALLAH(SWT)

Muslims believe in the existence of the angels and that they are honored creatures. The angels worship ALLAH (SWT) alone, obey Him, and act only by His command. Among the angels is Gabriel, who brought down the Quran to Muhammad Belief in the Angels

Muslims believe that ALLAH (SWT) revealed books to His messengers as proof for mankind and as guidance for them. Among these books is the Quran, which ALLAH (SWT) revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. ALLAH (SWT) has guaranteed the Quran’s protection from any corruption or distortion. ALLAH (SWT) has said: We have sent down the Quran, and surely We will guard it (from corruption). (Quran, 15:9) Belief in ALLAH (SWT)’s Revealed Books

Muslims believe in the prophets and messengers of ALLAH (SWT), starting with Adam, including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them). But ALLAH (SWT)’s final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.. Muslims believe that Muhammad is the last prophet sent by ALLAH (SWT), as ALLAH (SWT) has said: Muhammad is not the father of any one of your men, but he is the Messenger of ALLAH (SWT) and the last of the prophets... (Quran, 33:40) Muslims believe that all the prophets and messengers were created human beings who had none of the divine qualities of ALLAH (SWT). Belief in the Prophets and Messengers of ALLAH (SWT)

Muslims believe in the Day of Judgment (the Day of Resurrection) when all people will be resurrected for ALLAH (SWT)’s judgment according to their beliefs and deeds. Belief in the Day of Judgment

Muslims believe in Al-Qadar, which is Divine Predestination, but this belief in Divine Predestination does not mean that human beings do not have freewill. Rather, Muslims believe that ALLAH (SWT) has given human beings freewill. This means that they can choose right or wrong and that they are responsible for their choices. The belief in Divine Predestination includes belief in four things: 1.ALLAH (SWT) knows everything. He knows what has happened and what will happen 2.ALLAH (SWT) has recorded all that has happened and all that will happen 3.Whatever ALLAH (SWT) wills to happen happens, and whatever He wills not to happen does not happen 4.ALLAH (SWT) is the Creator of everything Belief in Al-Qadar

The 99 Names of Allah, (Arabic: أسماء الله الحسنى ‎ ʾasmāʾ allāh al-Ḥusnā), are the names of ALLAH (SWT) (specifically, attributes) by which Muslims regard ALLAH (SWT) and which are traditionally maintained as described in the Qur'ān, and Sunnah, amongst other places. There is, according to hadith, a special group of 99 names but no enumeration of them. Thus the exact list is not agreed upon, and the names of ALLAH (SWT) (as adjectives, word constructs, or otherwise) exceed 99 in the Qur'ān and Sunnah. Some of the names of ALLAH (SWT) have been hidden from mankind, therefore there are not only 99 names of ALLAH (SWT) but there are more.Arabic 99 Names of Allah

Allah! none has the right to be worshipped but He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. [Al-Qur’an 2:255] -cont 99 Names of Allah

22. He is Allah, than Whom there is none has the right to be worshipped but He. the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open). He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 23. He is Allah than Whom there is none has the right to be worshipped but He the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allah! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him. 24. He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. [Al-Quran 59:22-24] -cont 99 Names of Allah
