( (MODEL AND TEMPLATE) Project Proposal Developing e-Content for communicative Language Teaching and translation &interpretation in Modern Persian, Indo Persian Literature and Modern Persian Department of persian, AMU, Aligarh Aims and Objectives This is a preliminary plan of how the Department of Persian proposes to begin the creation of e-content as postulated in sakshat Mission. This proposal in its initial shape also details how the department of Persian at later stage will plan to take up creating and uploading the required e content for other undergraduate and Post graduate courses to be chosen by the Department. It also touches upon some ways to publicize the uploaded material to make perspective users aware of it s availability and encourage them to access it on a regular basis. introduction and Justification Cultural and historical and commercial relationship between India and Iran is centuries old. The relationship is still continuing. In contemporary times several high-level bilateral exchanges have taken place. In Modern times Indo- Iran Indo Iran relationship has taken a new shape. Iran’s large energy reserves and India’s technological strength is resulting into long-term economic relation- ship. As a result oil imports by India account for 3/4th of the total trade. Drugs& Pharmaceuticals, chemicals, Iron Ore, Fabrics, tea, etc, are the major items which India exports to Iran. Besides the common projects of Iran-Hind shipping company, Chennai petrochemical Corporation Ltd, India and Iran are also the members of North South corridors. Keeping in view the Indo-Iran relationship, it becomes essential to popularize the teaching of modern communicative Persian language, translation and interpretation in modern idiom in Indian universities particularly in AMU. The popularization and expansion of modern communicative Persian language and skill of translation and interpretation in modern Persian idiom will increase and strength Indo-Iran relationship. This is an essential need in the perspective of the growing Indo-Iran relations in modern context. In order to keep pace with the changing education scenario e-content generation in the field of communicative Language Teaching and translation &interpretation in Modern Persian would not only enhance the quality of instruction but this mode of educational delivery system will facilitate the spread of education to the unreached and will create new roads for learning as enjoyable activity besides empowering the teacher to deliver the expertise in an efficient manner. The same justification is true for Modern Persian literature.

Indo–Persian Literature is the Specialty of the Department of Persian at A.M.U. The Department is identified and known as the centre of excellence for its research out-put in this field. The contribution of our teachers in this field is colossal and has international acclaim. This syllabus and course will be highly useful to the seekers of knowledge with in country and world-wide Methodology The Department plans to form two sub-committees under the direct supervision of the chairperson. These committees will be known as the Academic Sub-committee for e-Content Generation and the Technical Sub-committee for e- Content Uploading. Both committees will work closely with each other as well as with the faculty members of the Department The Academic Sub-committee will Write introductory material about the Department. Examine the syllabi carefully to select the undergraduate and postgraduate courses from which material has to be placed online. Hold meetings with the faculty members responsible for teaching the selected courses. Solicit lecture notes or other relevant material in the required format from faculty members concerned. Examine the material for relevance, comprehensiveness of content, clarity of language, and adherence to proper format. Either undertake or recommend minor/moderate editing, if needed. Create informational brochures or other publicity material to give to students. Work closely with the technical sub-committee to ensure timely uploading of all material. Communicate the requests or requirements of the technical sub-committee to the faculty members involved in the creation of e-content. Hold meetings with the chairperson, the technical sub-committee and faculty members as and when needed. The Technical Sub-committee will Hire competent and experienced Internet professionals. Closely monitor the uploading of content. Work closely with the academic sub-committee to ensure timely submission and uploading of all material. Ensure a vivid and user-friendly design for each page. Work closely with the academic sub-committee to ensure timely submission and uploading of all material. Hold meetings with the chairperson, the academic sub-committee and faculty members as and when needed. Present report (mentioning both progress and problems) to the chairperson of the Department. Periodically monitor the Web pages to make sure that they are up and functioning. Note: An additional function of both sub-committees will be to seek student volunteers, train them, and involve them in select areas of the academic or technical aspects of the project. Both committees will also encourage student volunteers to develop expertise in select topics of their choice so that they may act as online mentors to other students. The home page will include the following: Name and address of the Department. (A photograph or other graphic can also be included). A brief history of and introduction to the Department. A panel containing links to: Information about pioneering professors and their contribution. The faculty page – containing hyperlinked names of faculty members. The syllabus page Discussion Forums. Real-time Academic Chat. Student Details Site Map. Approach – Target Group Students who have a graduation Degree in Persian from any recognized university. Also M. A.in Persian or in any subject with not les than 50% marks in aggregate and having studied Persian as Main/ Optional subject at B.A. Level – Beneficiaries of the course The course has high employment potential in the areas of Indo-Iran Cultural and commercial relation. – Course Content Planning The Department concern will identify the core paper or optional papers or the kind of Course(s) that have special focus on the national outreach and relevance of the course. ( Workshop will be required details of which will go into the financial requirements) – Conversion of Course Content into e-mode The selected course contents will be transferred into e-mode requiring the help of Subject experts and e-content developers. ( Workshop will be required details of which will go into the financial requirements) Activities for Content Development –Preparation of course content involving the expertise of subject expertise. –The course content prepared by the subject experts will be converted into multimedia e mode with the help of the appropriate software tools by the multimedia content developers. Organization of Workshops/Training for the refinement of multimedia course content. ( Workshop will be required details of which will go into the financial requirements) –Standardization and quality assurance of the e-course content.
