Where do you fit in Health Care Reform ? 1.On private insurance now? 2.On employer health insurance? 3.On Medicaid now? 2. On Medicare now? 3.On Medicaid and Medicare? 4.Currently uninsured?

You’re on an individual private insurance plan? If you have HIV or another health issue, you may be able to buy cheaper insurance in the Marketplace Definitely true if your individual plan is currently a “high risk” plan Almost certain to be true if your income is under $45,000 since you’ll get a subsidy in the Marketplace.

Are you already covered by your employer? You’re covered! Stay right where you are. One exception. If you are low income and your employer charges you a fortune (more than 9.5% of your income) for your insurance you can go to the Marketplace and buy a cheaper policy.

On Medicaid Now? You’re covered. Stay right where you are! One big change coming if you live in the city: Integrated Care Management – Watch for a mailing, perhaps as early as January – You must pick an HMO or other managed care program – If you don’t chose, you will be assigned to one (They will try to assign you to wherever you get your care now. Don’t take a chance—be proactive!)

On Medicare Now? Relax! It’s all good news No real changes—part D donut hole continues to close slowly But one alert: If you are on Medicare AND Medicaid, you also need to watch the mail (MMAI).

On both? Medicare Medicaid Alignment Initiative (MMAI) Today – Medicare covers doctor, hospital, lab, prescription drugs – Medicaid only pays if you’re getting long term care services, either at home or in a nursing home 2014 – The state will want to put you into a managed care program for all your care. Will be auto-enrolled for all Medicare AND Medicaid services starting around April. Can drop out for Medicare services. WATCH THE MAIL! And make sure Public Aid and Social Security have your correct address.

You are currently one of the following: – AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) – Uninsured and Make under <138% FPL = $15,856 Annual Income & $1,321 Monthly Income. – Uninsured and make more than >138% FPL = $15,856 Annual Income & $1,321 Monthly Income. You can expect some changes if…

You’re uninsured now? Health care reform has your name all over it! Living with an income above $15,856 per year ($1273 per month) with a valid SSN? Head to the Marketplace and shop for a health insurance. Call for enrollment help today! Living with an income below $15,856 per year ($1273 per month) with a valid SSN? You qualify for Medicaid. Call for enrollment help today!

Are you locked out? You don’t have a valid Social Security number? Or you’re a new lawful permanent resident? – Undocumented immigrants can not access Medicaid or purchase insurance on the Marketplace – During their first five years, legal permanent residents cannot access Medicaid, but can access the Marketplace and qualify for subsidies. – After five years, legal permanent residents can qualify for Medicaid.
