Religious Buildings Synagogues  Synagogues are buildings where Jewish people worship.  The Star of David is a symbol of Judaism.

Religious Buildings Mosques  Mosques are buildings where Muslims worship.  Mosques have towers called minarets.  Mosques do not have pictures or statues of Allah or Muhammed.

Religious Buildings Pagodas  Pagodas are religious buildings in Asia.

Dwellings Yurts  Yurts are portable tents used by nomadic people in Mongolia.

Dwellings Thatched Roofs  People in the Pacific islands make houses with thatched roofs.

Dwellings Tiled Roofs  Red tiled roofs are common in countries around the Mediterranean. The tiles are made out of red clay that is widely available in the region.

Dwellings Chalets  Chalets are houses with steep roofs. Chalets are common in areas that get a lot of snow such as Switzerland.

Dwellings Castles  Castles are common in Europe. They were built for defense during the Middle Ages.

Statues and Monuments Taj Mahal  The Taj Mahal is a tomb in India. The building was built by an Indian emperor for his wife when she died.
