Fallen Timbers By Madison Nov 15, 2007 Sts Peter & Paul School Wellston, Ohio, USA Ms. Barbara Apsley

Why I Chose this Place I chose this place because I thought it looked interesting. I think it is interesting once I started working on it. I have not been there before though.

Where is it located? Fallen Timbers is near the Maumee River about three miles southwest of the city of Maumee in Lucas County. Take the first exit off of U.S. Route 24 southwest of and turn east. Then follow the road north paralleling U.S. Route 24 to this site.

What is it? It is a Toledo Metro Park Visitor Center. It has a monument for honoring Major General Anthony Wayne. Major General Wayne was the general in the battle of Fallen Timbers on August The battle was the bringing of the Indians of the northwest territory to sign the Treaty of Greene Ville.

What can you do there? There isn’t much to do there except look at the monument or statue.

When is it open? It is open all year round only in daylight hours.

What does it cost? The admission there is free.
