 Samuel replied, “ Yes, in peace, I have come to sacrifice to the lord. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me.”  “….. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”  “ See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you…”  “ this is what will be done for the man who kills him.”  David said to Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the lord Almighty, The God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied…”

PASSAGES  “ I am the son of your servant Jesse of Bethlehem.”  “…. As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the polar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the Lord has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistines army.”  Lord says, “ Out of our own household I am going to bring you calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. You did it in secret, but will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.

CHARACTERIZATION  DAVID  David had many wives  Was a very honest, caring soul, and very protective  Always fought for the lord  had a strong character also an incredible faith  SAUL  Saul was impulsive, disobedient, jealous and vengeful  had a contrast in humility  command of temper and had a spirit of forgiveness through his wounded pride  LORD  had a open mind  Looked only at the inner beauty of the humans he created  His character is very strong, forgiving, kind, and protective

 GOLIATH  Goliath was strong and arrogant  was a soldier to the people  his character was based on his height the people were scared of him and for them he was terrifying  thought of himself as a strong that could control and protect  his strong character in the outside override him against David through his lack of strength in the inside

MAIN IDEAS  THEME  The theme of the story of David and in David and Goliath is that against all odds the shepherd known as David defeated the trained warrior Goliath. Showing that the Lord overcomes the mighty, proud and the strong through using the weak and defenseless. The theme of the Lord is interceding on behalf of those who are weak and unable to protect themselves. Overall the Theme is that you don’t have to strong as others but through the Lord you can override anything

 this story can be connected to every day life in many situations these elements are seen financial wise or through intelligence – like you here now in days people don’t have enough money for their education and cant buy electronics or supplies but you don’t need any of that as long as your focused and find ways such as a library you can succeed as any other student. Another Element in everyday life is many kids or people are afraid of bullies or people with great evil but they cant override you. You have as much power as them and can overthrow them in a more humanly way.  Discussion Questions? Why is so important about the theme? What do you think brought Davis such a strong character? How does the lord bring calamity towards David?
