 List the four characteristics of carbon  List the big four  List the three types of carbohydrates and give an example of each.  What is dehydration synthesis?  What is hydrolysis?  What are the functions of polysaccharides?  List the three types of lipids.  What is the function of phospholipids?  What are the functions of sterols?  What are the monomers of simple lipids?

 List the bonds that form each level of protein structure.  List five functions of proteins.  What are the monomers of proteins? What are the special groups (functional groups) that are found in them?  What are the monomers of nucleic acids? What molecules make up these monomers?  Compare and contrast DNA and RNA.  State the first law of thermodynamics.  State the second law of thermodynamics.
