Nationals from EU, Acceeding states, Associated States, Third countries Host institutions can be in EU, Acceeding states, Associated states, Third countries Mobility: The researcher should not be a national of the state in which he/she plans to move and carry out research. And: The researcher has not lived, worked or studied in the country he wants to move to for more than 12 months out of the three years immediately prior to either the time of application, or the start of work.

Marie Curie – Fellowships in FP 6 Individual-driven actions: Financing for researchers Monthly living allowance: basic monthly amount paid according to research experience of the researcher (Euro per year for experienced researchers under employment contract, plus correction coefficient) Mobility allowance: monthly payment of a fixed amount to cover expenses related to the mobility (Euro 500 without family, 800 with family, plus correction coefficient)

Marie Curie – Fellowships in FP 6 Intra-European Fellowships (EIF) - Basics for experienced researchers moving from a Member State (MS) or Associated State (AS) to another MS/AS Aim: provide advanced training tailored to the researchers' individual needs in order to become independent.

Marie Curie – Fellowships in FP 6 Intra-European Fellowships (EIF) - How does it work in practice The researcher applies to the Commission jointly with the host institution. If the proposal is selected, the Commission signs a contract with the host. The researcher signs an agreement/contract with the host institution. The researcher spends 1-2 years at the host institution.

Marie Curie – Fellowships in FP 6 Outgoing International Fellowships (OIF) for experienced researchers from MS and AS moving to a Third Country  compulsory return phase Aim: Training in an internationally accepted excellent Centre outside of Europe, followed by applying the experience gained in a European host organisation Implementation and duration: 2 Phases –First Phase: 1-2 years in a not European area –Second Phase: max. 1 year (normally half the time of the first Phase) at a host institution in a MS / AS

Marie Curie – Fellowships in FP 6 Incoming International Fellowships (IIF) For experienced researchers from Third countries coming to MS or AS  Possibility of a re-integration grant for scientists from developing countries Aim: Training of excellent researchers from Third Countries in Europe; Knowledge transfer to Europe Application: researcher in liaison with the host institution as well as the re-integration host (if there is a re-integration)

Marie Curie – Fellowships in FP 6 Chairs (EXC) - Basics Aims: Support world-class researchers for a research period and to encourage them to resume and advance their careers in Europe For: world-class researchers. This action also addresses European „returning researchers“. It may be developed in synergy with host-driven actions. The Chair holder gives lectures and carries out research. (50/50)

Marie Curie – Fellowships in FP 6 European Reintegration Grants (ERG) Aim: Reintegration of researchers from MS or AS who have taken part in a Marie Curie Action for at least two years Application: The researcher applies to the Commission together with the host institution six months before the end of their initial fellowship. Project: starts usually after the MC action is finished (exceptional cases are possible!); well- defined research project which has to be more advanced? considerably to be better than the original project

Marie Curie – Fellowships in FP 6 European Reintegration Grants (ERG) Budget: The grant, which must be used within one year, goes towards the cost of undertaking a reintegration project. Salary is not paid for the reintegrated researcher. (But additional staff, equipment, travel expenses, etc.) The host institution must ensure the effective and lasting reintegration of the researcher for at least two years. Not more than 3% of the total contribution can be used for management activities.
