Florida state statute Florida law requires each Florida county to employ a veterans’ service officer to assist veterans and their dependents in filing for benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The law also states that the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs (FDVA) is responsible for initial and annual certification and training.

Florida

Veteran population shift Based on 2000 census data, California and Florida have the greatest number of veterans respectively. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs expects data to rank Florida first and California second by 2013 information.
