Wire & Mixed Media Sculpture

Mixed-media describes art made from more than one material.

Thin wire can be bent and shaped to create interesting 3D forms.

Wool wrapped around wire can change its colour and texture. What else could you wrap around wire to change it’s appearance?

Try wrapping wool around a piece of wire to create different textures.

Experiment with different coloured wools to create a decorative design. Choose a contrasting colour wool to make your design stand out!

This curly effect is made by wrapping wire around a pencil. What else could you wrap the wire around?

Can you make a wire spring like this Try get it as tight as this one. How could you make different size springs?
