Entering the classroom  You may greet me on your way in “Hi Mrs. Willars”  Enter the room quietly  Go directly to your seat  Get your materials  Begin dispatch/journal immediately (this is a quiet individual activity)

Agenda and Dispatch/journal  After entering the class take note of the date (if it is wrong let me know)  Write the agenda and dispatch/journal in you agenda book (along with homework)

Entering the classroom during class  Knock on the door if it is locked  I or a fellow student will open the door  Enter quietly  Go directly to your seat. Someone please explain…  Get to work immediately

Getting to work immediately  Have all your materials  Read the assignment on the board  Begin working on assignment  If you don’t understand raise your hand and I will help you

Homework  After dispatch/journal pass your homework to the center of the room and I will collect it  If you were absent and need to turn in homework please put it in your periods inbox  If you were absents and homework was passed back check your periods outbox  Get a peers number/ /facebook right now!!!  Late work IS NOT accepted  Your assignment is due the day you come back (unless it was a handout)

Dispatch/Journal  Work on dispatch/journal during the week as they are assigned  They will be turned in on Friday and given back on Monday  If you are absent Friday put it in the inbox on Monday

Coming to attention  I will say “Attention” or something similar  Finish your sentence  Look at me  Stop talking  Listen for instructions  Continue working when instructed

When you need a writing utensil or paper  Ask at the beginning of the class

If you finish early  Read your reading book  Work ahead on other assignments  Finish any missing assignments  Work on an assignment from another class (never do this when we are working on something in class…)

When given an assignment  Write the assignment in your agenda  Ask questions if you have any  Accept the homework assignment

End of class dismissal  The teacher dismisses the class, not the clock or the bell  Quiet down  Push in your chair (chairs around you)  Clean up around you…YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR AREA  Exit quietly  You may say goodbye to the teacher and other students

When a school-wide announcement or class page is made  Stop talking  Listen to the announcement  Then continue working quietly

When visitors are in the classroom  Continue with your work  Be polite to the guest, answer questions if asked  Maintain work if the teacher is called away  If appropriate, engage in conversation with the visitor

If the teacher is out of the classroom  Continue with your work  Maintain the classroom guideline and procedures

If you are suddenly ill  If time, ask the teacher for a pass  If no time, go directly to the restroom  If you cannot make it to the restroom, please grab the waste basket on your way out  Report back when you are done to get a pass to the nurse’s office

Mistakes are okay  If I make a mistake please correct me (I am human too!)  If you make a mistake it is okay I will correct you if needed
