Agenda for today *Get to know you *Digital Citizenship Video & Questions *Verifying Google accounts/Resetting Apple IDs, and picking up Macbook *Logging into devices/set up *If time permits, we’ll discuss classroom expectations and curriculum.

Communication *Google Drive- (creating a new folder/sharing with me/give me editing rights) English 10 Homework or English 11 Homework Shared with me vs. My Drive Google Docs (creating a new doc/presentation)

Remind 101 (text message alerts) * Optional but highly recommended. You can opt out at any time. download Remind 101 free app and then to , or sign up using web address.

Web Backpack & Skyward (our new web based grading program) en and bookmark it on your Macbook Air (calendars/documents, etc.)

Your online textbook access Go to: my.hrw.com And use the login/password that I’ve given you. For most of you it is your student # for both the User ID and password. If you are unable to login, let me know and we’ll check on it. *Features available to you. (audio downloads, using the text, listening online, ACT resource, good study questions for selections to review)

Etiquette for ing me *Use proper grammar please, no text lingo. *Subject line filled in *Sign your full name & hour before you hit send. *Note- my hours will not match yours. I am not up at 1am checking . So, if it’s overnight urgent, phone a friend.

Assessment of learning *Writings (6 trait writing- 3 major papers and rewrites: narrative, informative, argumentative) *Analysis/synthesis *Close reading/annotation *Applying grammar rules to writing *Application of information (rarely use multiple choice) *Context clue vocabulary-both grades Word parts-1oth grade *Meeting deadlines will help.
