According to the MoU and following a proposal by the Greek State, the Steering Committee of the BSRH assigned the responsibility of operation of the Technical Secretariat for the execution of the project to “EGNATIA ODOS S.A.”. “EGNATIA ODOS S.A.” “EGNATIA ODOS S.A.” is a legal entity governed by private law in the form of a “Société Anonyme” with the Greek State (Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Network) being the sole shareholder. It is responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the EGNATIA Motorway. EGNATIA Motorway and its vertical Axes are the backbone of the Northern Greece transport system, which runs “horizontally” from Igoumenitsa (Adria) to Kipi (Turkish borders). Based on its wide range of experience and know how, EGNATIA ODOS has extended its field of activities to other areas in Greece and abroad. Role of State in implementation of major PPP road projects
