Session Objectives  Locate the within the Cobb Virtual Library while at school on a networked computer and at home logging onto Galileo.  Research a third grade science standard.  Locate an image or two for potential use with students within the next 12 months.

Session Objectives Con’t.  Identify the copyright regulations that surround this specific image.  Prepare to save the image & its copyright information on the network server in a location for future use.  Learn where to find additional information as needed.

Contains …  a million digital objects  in more than 200 collections  from 60 institutions  100 government agencies

Available …  Home: Via the Internet through Galileo using a password  School: Via school network (in Cobb County through Cobb Virtual Library)

Need to check the usage regulations for each image from each collection

The Standards S3L1. Students will investigate the habitats of different organisms and the dependence of organisms on their habitat. ○ a. Differentiate between habitats of Georgia (mountains, marsh/swamp, coast, Piedmont, Atlantic Ocean) and the organisms that live there. ○ b. Identify features of green plants that allow them to live and thrive in different regions of Georgia. ○ c. Identify features of animals that allow them to live and thrive in different regions of Georgia. ○ d. Explain what will happen to an organism if the habitat is changed.
